History
The key people within Pipe Coil Dynamics Ltd have a long history with pipe coiling equipment for HDPE, PEX and PB pipe, stretching back to 1989 when Gordon Fiddes was involved in a UK joint industry development project to supply 180mm HDPE gas pipe in coiled lengths. After developing and successfully installing several of these early coiling machines, Gordon formed Pipe Coil Technology Ltd (PCT) in 1993.
From 1993 to 2014 PCT designed and supplied a wide variety of coiling machines for use with plastic pipe, composite pipe, subsea umbilical and steel wire rope. In 2014 PCT Ltd was sold to Reece Group, who operated the company until 2016 at which time they closed the business in order to focus on their core business in the defence and oil & gas sectors.
In 2016 Dr Joe Robinson formed JR Control Systems Ltd in order to provide continuity of after sales support to users of PCT Ltd machines. JR Control Systems continued to supported users of PCT Ltd machines, providing spares, servicing, technical support, refurbishment and various upgrades such as complete control system replacements. The company began supplying new machines in 2019 and have steadily been expanding the range of new machines offered over the past four years.
In May 2023 the company name was changed to Pipe Coil Dynamics Ltd to reflect the core activity of the business. Also in 2023 the company recently embarked on the development of an innovative, fully automated coiling system for 63mm to 180mm diameter HDPE pipe which will be introduced to the market in 2024.
