The design of a fully automatic coiling and packaging machine for use with small diameter polyethylene tubing from 4mm to 12mm diameter has been completed and will go into manufacture later in the year. The coiler, along with it's multi-turn in-line accumulator, will operate directly at the end of an extrusion line handling tubing being extruded at up to 50m/min. Coils will be packaged by circumferentially wrapping with stretch film before being unloaded onto a horizontal conveyor. The system will manufacture a wide range of coil lengths and can be programmed to cut tubing samples between coils.
